Overview

Over seven years, Zed delivered lectures, workshops, and spoken word performances at more than 25 colleges and universities across the United States and Canada — booked through OutMedia and SBC Productions. Engagements ranged from single-session workshops to multi-day campus visits, covering topics including gender identity, consent culture, interpersonal communication, and creative writing. Campus appearances were organized end-to-end by Zed, including all outreach, media creation, marketing, promotion, and post-event surveying.

  • Organized all campus engagements end-to-end: outreach, booking, travel, media creation, marketing, and promotion
  • Delivered workshops and lectures to student audiences ranging from small seminars to large auditorium events
  • Adapted facilitation style and content to diverse campus communities, student populations, and engagement formats
  • Conducted post-event surveys and incorporated feedback into ongoing program development
  • Built and maintained relationships with campus programming offices, student organizations, and diversity and inclusion departments across 25+ institutions
  • Performed spoken word poetry at select campus engagements as part of a broader programming offer

Outcome

Seven years of sustained campus programming across 25+ institutions — from community colleges to Ivy League universities — building one of the most geographically broad independent speaker and workshop programs in the queer education space, and establishing long-term relationships with campus programming offices across the US and Canada.
