Overview
Pulse and Portals of Pleasure represent a continuous 10-year arc of residential retreat production across two organizations. Pulse was a 5-day residential empowerment and embodiment retreat produced under Body Electric School, where Zed served as co-producer and assistant facilitator across 4 annual instances from 2009–2013. When Zed co-founded Body Trust Circle in 2014, the retreat evolved into Portals of Pleasure — an advanced 5-day residential retreat integrating somatic practice, artistic expression (drawing, painting, writing, dance, music, food), and intentional community building. Portals ran for 5 instances across Bellingham WA and Albuquerque NM through 2019, representing a full professional arc from assistant facilitator to co-founder and lead producer.
Contributions
- Produced and facilitated 9 residential retreat instances across 2 organizations over 10 years
- Managed all production logistics across every instance: venue sourcing and contracts, catering, residential setup, materials, and travel coordination
- Co-designed all curriculum, daily schedules, and facilitation frameworks for Portals of Pleasure from scratch
- Coordinated marketing, registration, intake processes, and sliding-scale pricing accessibility
- Led facilitation team and co-facilitated all sessions throughout each 5-day retreat
- Managed organizational transition of the retreat program from Body Electric School to Body Trust Circle
Outcome
Built and sustained one of the only long-running residential empowerment retreat programs of its kind — 9 instances across 10 years and 2 organizations, with a consistent returning participant community and a production model that scaled successfully across multiple venues and states.
