Overview
BUTCH Voices is a national organization and conference series dedicated to celebrating and supporting the lives of masculine-of-center women, trans people, and gender non-conforming individuals. Zed served as Board Member and Media Chair from 2010–2013, co-producing both the NYC and Portland Regional Conferences in 2010 and the third Biennial National Conference in Oakland in 2013 — one of the largest gatherings of butch, stud, and masculine-of-center community in the country.
Contributions
- Served on the BUTCH Voices Board of Directors, contributing to organizational strategy, governance, and event planning
- Co-produced the BUTCH Voices NYC Regional Conference, 2010
- Facilitated the Closing Keynote for NYC Regional Conference, 2010
- Co-produced the BUTCH Voices Portland Regional Conference, 2010
- Co-produced the BUTCH Voices Third Biennial National Conference, Oakland CA, 2013
- Served as Media Chair overseeing all media relations, press outreach, and public communications for the organization and its events
- Managed promotional and marketing strategy across both conference productions
- Coordinated media coverage, press credentials, and on-site media logistics for conference events
Outcome
Contributed to two successful BUTCH Voices conference productions over three years — including the organization’s third national conference — helping grow the visibility and reach of one of the most significant gathering spaces for masculine-of-center community in the US.
