I came home to a lovely surprise today, which was my official letter and contract from the new erotica collection Love at First Sting, edited by Alison Tyler, due out this summer from Cleis Press. (Sexy cover, eh?) My short story “Unlocking” (which was published in 2006’s Secret Slaves: Erotic Stories of Bondage) is included.

I’m not going to be reading, but some of my fellow mentors in the Girls Write Now program, Pooja Makhijani, Maggie Pouncey, and Terry Selucky, will be reading their fabulous work this Thursday night - that’s TOMORROW - at Teachers & Writers Collaborative. Come on out & support the cause.
This just in: I will be competing in PvC: the Poetry vs Comedy Variety Hour on Monday, June 18th, for the Gay Pride edition. I’ve done PvC twice before, the first time I was the first poet to win the competition - but alas, I wasn’t able to defend my title the second time (but at least another poet won).
It is a really fun night, so come on out - if only for the hi-larious MC, Carolyn Castilia (aka Miss CKC)! (Just go look at her rap music video for CHIPS and then try to say she won’t be the most amusing MC you’ve ever seen. Just try.)
It’s on the google performance calendar, so add it to your events & change your notifications so it reminds you. Pretty soon, we won’t even need our brains anymore. Or, I should say, pretty soon we won’t have to fill our brains with such USELESSNESS like scheduling, so we can fill it with other things! Like competitive poetry and comedy!
Better go start preparing, those comics are FIERCE.
Well, so I’m tidying things up around here. I’ve added a bunch of photographs of my past performances (some of them not so flattering, really, but they’re all I’ve got) and updated the performance schedule to include some summer dates. I put a bio up, too, though I’m working on something more thorough. That’s my 100-words-or-less bio.
